Found Poem, Jem. By: Stanley Suter

 Racist Emotions...

 Not Guilty.
 11 other boys like
 Me were on heathen juries.
 It ain't right
 heathen juries
 Soon's I get grown-
 Unfair
 Make it right
He says he's gonna get you.
 We're scared for you.
 We've got a good chance
they didn't have to give him death, they could've gave him twenty years
go up to Montgomery and change the law.
 Make it right.

  1. What I really wanted to portray in my poem was the level of grief, and the amount of options that Jem would mention, even though none would work. I Think that in their county, Maycomb, the black trial would be very uncommon. The level of racism would make it completely impossible for the colored party to win, and Jem hated that. So he lists out very clearly his emotions and how badly he wished it could change, that being the basis of my poem. Some of the quotes came from a conversation with Atticus, but still show the point I am trying to make.
